TAMPA, Fla. – Three armed juveniles were arrested, and a total of ten guns were recovered by Tampa Police Monday as a result of an ongoing investigation.

After the arrest of two subjects involved in the June 14 shooting in the game room of the West River Boulevard apartments, detectives were working on developing additional leads into that case when they became aware of multiple, possibly armed, juveniles hanging out at 2004 N. Howard Ave. (Related: VIDEO: Tampa Teen Arrested After Opening Gunfire, Shooting 2 At Apartment Game Room)

Officers immediately began a secondary investigation. They conducted surveillance of the N. Howard location and witnessed multiple subjects exiting the building.

One subject, later identified as 17-year-old Darrell Crumbley, was armed with a gun. Officers quickly detained Crumbley, who was found to be armed with a Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun.

A second subject, 17-year-old Nazereth Danner, was armed with a Beretta .22 caliber handgun with the serial number removed.

As officers made these two arrests, additional officers who were monitoring the Howard Ave location encountered four other subjects. During this encounter, officers found 16-year-old Jarvis Jordan to be armed with a Taurus .40 caliber handgun. The other three subjects were released.

Officers obtained a probable cause search warrant for 2004 N. Howard Ave Apartment 208 where the armed subjects had been hanging out. During an initial sweep, multiple firearms were observed in plain view. Officers secured seven additional guns during the search; two of which were listed as stolen.

“It is deeply concerning that these juveniles not only have access to guns, but they have a disregard for the safety of others,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “Thanks to the dedication of our detectives and officers, who prove their commitment every day to making Tampa safer, ten guns are now out of the hands of juveniles and cannot be used to hurt a member of our community.”

Darrel Crumbley was charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Firearm, and Minor in Possession of a Firearm.

Nazereth Danner was charged with Carrying a Concealed Firearm, Possession of a Firearm with Serial Number Removed, and two counts of Minor in Possession of a Firearm.

Jarvis Jordan was charged with Carrying a Concealed Firearm, and Minor in Possession of a Firearm.
