Tampa Police Discover Deceased Man In Car That Was Surrounded By Flies

Tampa Police officers were dispatched to the area of N Elmore Av and E Adalee St on Tuesday morning in reference to a concern that a parked vehicle was surrounded by flies.

TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Police officers were dispatched to the area of N Elmore Av and E Adalee St on Tuesday morning in reference to a concern that a parked vehicle was surrounded by flies.

When officers arrived, they located a male deceased inside the vehicle.

Initially, there did not appear to be any foul play involved. The medical examiner’s office took custody of the body.

Later in the day, Tampa Police were notified that the man had a possible gunshot wound to his neck.

Due to the amount of decomposition to the body, this could not be determined on the scene.

The investigation is now being treated as a possible homicide.

Officials are still working to identify the man, therefore, no next of kin has been contacted.

Detectives are actively investigating the case and updates to this story will be provided as information becomes available.
