The Smollettification Of America Continues, This Time In Virginia, Where A Muslim Student Made Up A Claim Of A Hate Crime

One might think that the conviction of actor Jussie Smollett for perpetrating a phony hate crime might quell the temptation to pull such stunts.

But not at one Virginia high school.

The Post Millennial reported on Sunday that Ekran Mohamed, a student at Fairfax High School, claimed on Dec. 14 that she was “called racist slurs, was pushed by two male classmates, and had her hijab pulled, revealing her hair.”

That was four days after Smollett was convicted of concocting his story about being jumped by a pair of MAGA-shouting musclemen.

According to Mohamed, she accidentally hit a male student with her backpack. He responded by insulting her as “ugly and little.”

He then tried to snag her hijab from the back, she said. Mohamed then grabbed his hair, and gut-punched him – which prompted him to throw her into a desk.

“Paramedics were called because Mohamed collapsed on the floor because she couldn’t breathe. The paramedics were called for what the school said was a panic attack,” the Post Millennial reported.

The grievance industry leapt into action.

The left-wing Council on American-Islamic Relations fired off a series of tweets calling for action.

“A female Muslim student at Fairfax High School in Virginia was reportedly assaulted by a male student who has faced no repercussions. We call on law enforcement to immediately launch a #hatecrime probe into this incident. #Islamophobia,” the group tweeted on Thursday.

On Friday, CAIR added, “It is completely unacceptable that after this horrific assault, the suspect was placed in the same room as the victim. The safety of Muslim students must be ensured.

#Islamophobia #HateCrime.”

A Change.org petition joining CAIR’s demand for action and echoing its accusations of a cover-up by the school was signed by more than 28,000 people. Some 350 students staged a solidarity walkout for Mohamed, with the blessing of the school district.

Then the truth emerged.

As the Post Millennial noted, Fairfax police investigated and realized the school had been Jussied.

“The police investigation determined the physical altercation between two Fairfax High School students was not a hate crime. The investigation revealed there were no racial comments made by either student,” police said in the press release.

“The female student confirmed her hijab became partially undone during the altercation, exposing her hair. The female student advised that the information posted on several social media websites, stating that racial comments were used during the altercation were false.”

  1. The First Amendment protects the right of journalists to use the names of minors in newsworthy stories as long as the information is “lawfully obtained” and “truthfully” reported. Just a tip – you may want to investigate your “truth” a little more to prevent a law suit. Conservative propaganda does not constitute “truth.” There is definitely false information in this article.
