Time magazine has recognized Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna as one of the rising stars in American politics and culture.

The Clearwater Republican announced the designation on X (formerly Twitter), telling her 370,000 followers on Wednesday to look for the full magazine piece at the end of the week.

Time included Luna on its roster of Time100 Next. The list seeks to spotlight “rising leaders in health, climate, business, sports, the arts and more,” Time said on its website. Time’s editors noted that they “sift through hundreds of suggestions and then meet each week to debate who belongs on the list.”

“Through this process, we get to know so many extraordinary leaders who are creating change across the world. Our hope is that this list offers a glimpse into their important work,” Cate Matthews, a TIME editorial director, said.

Luna apparently was named for her unwillingness to accept the role of freshman backbencher in the new GOP-led House.

As Time explained in its piece, “Most new members of Congress aim to spend their first term learning the ways of Capitol Hill. Anna Paulina Luna wants to change them.”

“As the architect of the House GOP’s censure of California Democrat Adam Schiff, who led [former President] Donald Trump’s first impeachment, the charismatic Florida freshman is on a mission to disrupt the governing class,” Time added. “Some Republicans who initially opposed the measure fell in line after Luna orchestrated a social media backlash against them.”

“It was a moment Luna was made for after running Hispanic outreach for the pro-Trump youth group Turning Point USA, where she mastered the art of provocative internet virality. Now the youngest House Republican is using her digital prowess to lead a new class of populists working to redefine the Republican Party.”

Others on Time’s list include Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, Atlanta Braves slugger Ronald Acuna Jr., Ohio GOP Sen. J.D. Vance, and country music star Kelsea Ballerini.
