TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. – Treasure Island Fire Rescue is excited to host its 2nd Annual Walk to Beach Day on May 24 from 10 a.m. to noon along Gulf Blvd between 104th and 108th Avenue.

Inspired by the success of “Walk to School Day,” this event aims to promote community, health, environment, and benefits by spreading awareness about bicycle and pedestrian safety on the beach and beyond.

With Memorial Day weekend approaching and summer just around the corner, this event is the perfect opportunity to educate the community on the importance of safety.

The event will feature five stations along Gulf Blvd, with volunteers stationed at each crosswalk between 104th and 108th Avenue. Volunteers will be equipped with safety reflective vests and flags to help pedestrians cross the street safely.

Volunteers will also educate drivers and pedestrians on the importance of using crosswalks and the need for both to be alert and aware.
