Former President Donald Trump expressed his views on Israel’s offensive in Gaza. While acknowledging that he would have responded similarly to Israel after the attack by Hamas militants on October 7, he urged the country to “finish up” its offensive and bring an end to the conflict.

Trump emphasized the importance of reaching a lasting peace and cautioned Israel about losing international support.

“You have to finish up your war. You have to finish it up. You’ve got to get it done,” Trump said in an interview with Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom. “We’ve got to get to peace. You can’t have this going on, and I will say Israel has to be very careful because you are losing a lot of the world. You are losing a lot of support.”

Despite his overall support for Israel, Trump did not shy away from criticizing certain aspects of the offensive.

He argued that Israel made a significant mistake by releasing photos and videos of the military action in Gaza. Trump believed that such imagery created a negative perception of Israel in the eyes of the world, further eroding international support for the country.

Trump’s concerns about waning global support for Israel are not unfounded. The ongoing conflict has sparked widespread condemnation, with calls for a cease-fire coming from various nations and organizations.

President Joe Biden’s administration, in particular, has been increasingly critical of Israel’s offensive, which further highlights the divergence of opinions within the United States.

The Health Ministry in the Hamas-ruled territory has reported that more than 30,000 Palestinians have been killed as a result of Israel’s military actions.

In addition to discussing the conflict itself, Trump once again touched on the topic of American Jews’ political leanings. He suggested that they were wrong to support Democrats, accusing President Biden of “supporting the enemy.”
