Former President Donald Trump has fired back at left-wing critics of the judge overseeing his criminal case in South Florida, considered by some legal experts to be the strongest case against the former president.

Trump took to social media on Thursday to scold those on the left badgering U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, whom Trump appointed and who received support in 2020 for becoming a judge from a dozen Democratic senators.

“Crooked [President] Joe Biden and his crew of Hacks and Thugs, led by [Attorney General] Merrick Garland and Deranged [Special Counsel] Jack Smith, are working overtime to try to illegally intimidate and harass respected Federal Judge Aileen Cannon,” Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.

“They are calling her terrible names, wrongfully threatening her with Impeachment, and disrespecting her, all because they want her to act like the dishonest, politically biased, and conflicted Judges in New York, and not like the fair and impartial Judge that she is.”

Trump faces multiple counts of mishandling classified records.

He faces essentially the same charge that President Joe Biden could have been slapped with until Special Counsel Robert Hur declared that a successful prosecution of Biden was unlikely because jurors would sympathize with his cognitive decline and suspect memory.

On the other hand, Smith has been openly critical of Cannon in court filings — something that earned Trump gag orders in his cases in New York.

As the Tampa Free Press reported last week, Smith’s leftist surrogates in the media have denounced the judge. They have urged Smith, who is reportedly entertaining the idea, to appeal directly to the federal appellate court above Cannon to have her disqualified.

Former federal prosecutor Joseph Moreno told the Daily Caller last week that t is “amusing to hear criticism of Judge Cannon as biased from the same people who seemingly have no issues with two elected Democratic judges handling Trump’s civil and criminal cases in New York.”

One of the main criticisms being leveled against Cannon is that she is slow-walking Trump’s case, raising the issue of whether it will be resolved before the November election.

Yet prosecutors have had years to bring Trump’s cases and did not do so until now.
