PINELLAS COUNTY, FL. – Two Clearwater women are in critical condition after an early head-on collision on McMullen Booth Rd.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a 21-year-old Tampa woman was traveling southbound on McMullen Booth Road, south of Tampa Road.
An SUV driven by a 79-year-old Clearwater woman was traveling northbound on McMullen Booth Rd when the Tampa woman crossed over the raised center median and collided nearly head-on with the SUV.
Both vehicles rotated with the SUV stopping in the center lanes of McMullen Booth Rd. and the car coming to rest on the guardrail.
The driver of the SUV suffered critical injuries. Her passenger, an 84-year-old Clearwater woman, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
