Two Teens Killed After Driver Crashes Into Power Pole In St. Petersburg

Two people have died of their injuries and a third person was critically injured in a crash that happened around 12:45 am, according to St. Pete Police.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Two people have died of their injuries and a third person was critically injured in a crash that happened around 12:45 am, according to St. Pete Police.

At 12:45 am, police responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 4200 block of 11th Avenue South where an SUV hit a pole.

Police say a black 2013 Buick Rendezvous, driven by 17-year-old Nikia Killens of St Petersburg, was traveling eastbound on 11th Avenue South.

Killens drove off the roadway and crashed into a power pole in the 4200 block of 11th Avenue South.

Passengers in the vehicle were 14-year-old Shaariyah Brown, and 18-year-old Brice Lewis, both of St. Petersburg.

Killens was transported to John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital with minor injuries.

Police say that Brown was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where she was pronounced dead. Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is still ongoing and we will update this story if more details are released.
