U.S. Crime: Maryland Mother Attempts Drowning Murder-Suicide with 6-Year-Old Daughter, Both Saved by Police

Watch and listen to police officers rescue a Mother and her 6-year-old daughter in an attempted murder-suicide in the video below.

Southern District offices were called to the water line just behind Harbor Hospital in the 3000 block of South Hanover Street in Baltimore City.

When the officers arrived, they were advised that a 34-year-old woman who was experiencing a behavioral crisis was trying to drown herself along with her six-year-old daughter.

Without hesitation responding officers shed their police equipment and made their way into the freezing harbor water and rescued both.

Officers frantically rushed the six-year-old, who was unconscious and unresponsive, out of the water into a patrol car and straight to the nearest hospital where doctors were able to save her life.

The mother was transported to an area hospital where she received medical treatment and an evaluation.

Due to the officer’s quick thinking and heroism, both mother and daughter were saved.
