MULTOMAH COUNTY, Or. – Portland police confirmed that a person was shot and killed near a Pro-Trump Rally in Portland.

Demonstrations escalated on Saturday night after a Trump support rally made its way through Portland. Trump supporters appeared to fire paintball pellets and pepper spray from their vehicles, while counter-protesters threw objects back. Portland Police said there had been instances of violence and that officers have intervened and in some cases made arrests.

Mayor Ted Wheeler denounced the violence during a press conference Sunday, saying “One death is one death too many.”

Wheeler, in a statement to President Trump, said, “President Trump, for four years we had to live with you and your racist attacks on Black people. You, Mr. President, need to do your job as the leader of this nation, and I, Mr. President, will do my job as the mayor of this city.” (The full press conference is below.)

A video has surfaced on social media of the shooting and murder of the Pro-Trump supporter from Saturday night.
