TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -“The state of Florida, we want you guys to play,” said Governor Ron DeSantis.
The roundtable comes in response from a call of college athletes from around the country that want to play this season amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
DeSantis was joined by FSU President John Thrasher, FSU Football coach Mike Norvell, FSU Athletic Director David Coburn, and 2-FSU football players who want to get back on the field.
Florida Gov. DeSantis said he wants to see UF-FSU play this season but whether he would use an executive order to force the game? “That would have to be done in collaboration. It’s not for once person to dictate this thing,” responded Governor DeSantis.
“I support Florida State continuing to play with the season, as I do all the sports throughout the state of Florida, it’s very very important,” Desantis said.
