Wesley Chapel Man Killed In Plant City Forklift Accident

The Plant City Police Department received a 911 call regarding an industrial accident resulting in a fatality on Friday around 6:43 pm.

PLANT CITY, Fla. – The Plant City Police Department received a 911 call regarding an industrial accident resulting in a fatality on Friday around 6:43 pm.

Police say a white male adult was operating a forklift in the 1700 block of Turkey Creek Rd. Plant City, when for an unknown reason, the driver lost control of the forklift resulting in the forklift falling over and onto the operator.

Others already on the scene used alternate measures to remove the forklift from the victim.

“The injuries sustained were grave and the victim succumbed to the injuries at the scene,” said Plant City Police Captain Alfred Van Duyne.

Police say the victim is 23 years old and resided in Wesley Chapel.
