CLEARWATER, Fla. – A 73-year-old woman lost her life after being struck by lightning on Sand Key in Clearwater.
The Clearwater Police Department and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to the scene after receiving a report of the lightning strike around 7:45 pm Wednesday.
Upon their arrival, they discovered the woman’s body on a sidewalk within the Bayside Gardens IV complex on Gulf Boulevard.

According to the information provided, there were no witnesses to the incident, and it was a man who found her body after storms had passed through the area.
