PINELLAS COUNTY, FL.- A woman was killed overnight by a drunk driver, while walking on the sidewalk in Treasure Island, according to deputies.
According to investigators, officers with the Treasure Island Police Department responded to a crash at approximately 10:29 p.m. on Saturday, near 10086 Gulf Boulevard in Treasure Island.
Deputies say 46-year-old Andrea Hamilton was walking northbound on the west side of Gulf Boulevard using the sidewalk.
55-year-old Mark Walters was driving southbound on Gulf Boulevard when he left the roadway and struck Hamilton on the sidewalk.
Hamilton was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
Walters showed “indicators” of impairment during the investigation and was arrested.
He was transported to the Pinellas County Jail and is charged with one count of DUI Manslaughter.
