Zephyrhills Man Killed After Colliding With Construction Barrels, Head-On Crash With Van

PASCO COUNTY, FL. – A 79-year-old Zephyrhills man was killed in a crash that happened at 10:14 am. according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the Zephyrhills man was traveling in an SUV eastbound on SR-54 approaching Foxwood Boulevard.

Investigators say a van, was traveling westbound on SR-54.

For an unknown reason, the 79-year-old man lost control of his SUV which entered the outside shoulder and collided with several construction barrels.

The SUV was then redirected back across the highway and collided nearly head-on with the van.

Troopers say the 70-year-old man died at the scene of the crash from injuries suffered. The driver of the van, a 70-year-old Zephyrhills man, and his two passengers both from Zephyrhills, suffered serious injuries in the crash.
