20-Time Convicted Felon From Tampa Charged In Deadly Fentanyl Overdose Of Thonotosassa Man

TAMPA, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has linked a 20-time convicted felon to a deadly Thonotosassa overdose in November.

According to deputies, on November 5, 2023, Querran Talley, 27, was found dead in a mobile home park in Thonotosassa, located at the corner of East Fowler Avenue and Walker Road.

Upon searching the man, detectives located what appeared to be crack cocaine in his sock.

Using investigative means, detectives in HCSO’s Opioid Overdose Investigation Unit discovered Anthony Mansfield, 47, supplied the drugs leading to Talley’s overdose.

Mansfield was arrested on November 16, 2023on a litany of drug charges, including trafficking Fentanyl.

Mansfield has been in the Falkenburg Road Jail without bond while the death investigation continued.

On February 26, 2024, the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death of Talley to be caused by the combined effects of cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and oxycodone.

On April 18, 2024, the facts were presented to a Grand Jury, and Mansfield’s charges have been updated to include Murder in the First Degree, Resulting from the Distribution of a Controlled Substance.

“For six months, our detectives have worked relentlessly to hold this man accountable for taking a life here in Hillsborough County,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We will continue to fight against the proliferation of fentanyl in our community and hold those responsible for spreading this poison accountable.”
