47-Year-Old Haines City Man Fatally Shot After Midnight On New Year’s

POLK COUNTY, FL. – The Haines City Police Department is looking for any information regarding a fatal shooting that killed a 47-year-old Haines City man early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to AdventHealth Heart of Florida after 12:15 a.m. on Saturday after Michael Andre Jackson, 47, was admitted with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.

According to police, hospital staff conducted life-saving procedures, but Jackson was pronounced dead before 1 a.m.

Jackson was driven to the hospital after being shot near an empty lot at North 12th Street and Avenue I. A structure on 12th Street was struck as well, but there are no other known injuries at this time.

There are currently no known suspects nor a motivation for the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
