51-Year-Old Inverness Man Killed In Early Morning Motorcycle Crash On West Gulf Lake And Homosassa Trail

CITRUS COUNTY, FL. – A 51-year-old Inverness man was killed around 2:46 am Saturday morning in a crash that happened on West Gulf Lake Highway.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the man was riding a motorcycle eastbound on West Gulf to Lake Highway in the outside lane of travel when he lost control of the motorcycle.

Troopers say the man departed the roadway, traveled across an adjacent sidewalk, crossed over Homosassa Trail, and struck an electrical box on the southeast corner of the intersection.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the man was not wearing a helmet and suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
