7 New Florida Millionaires Announced This Week For $11,000,000, 6 From Scratch-Off Tickets

The Florida Lottery announced seven new millionaires in the state this week, six of them playing scratch-off tickets.

On Monday, Maria Duran, 65, of Miami, claimed a $1 million top prize from THE FASTEST ROAD TO $1,000,000 Scratch-Off game at the Lottery’s Miami District Office. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $790,000.00.

Duran purchased her winning ticket from Sunshine, located at 8219 West Flagler Street in Maimi. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

Also on Monday, John Clair, 56, of Hilliard, and Ama Campbell, 38, of Miami Gardens, each claimed a $1 million prize from the POWERBALL® Draw game at the Lottery’s Orlando and Miami District Offices. The winning tickets matched all five of the white ball numbers but did not match the Powerball number.

Clair purchased his $1 million winning POWERBALL ticket for the Saturday, January 1, 2022 drawing from Jack Rabbit Food Mart, located at 15807 County Road 108 in Hillard.

On Tuesday, Joseph Bozeman, 36, of Plant City, claimed the first $1 million top prize from the 50X THE CASH Scratch-Off game at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $820,000.00.

“I haven’t even told my wife yet,” Bozeman told the Lottery. “I’m going to surprise her by walking into our house with this oversized check and when she doesn’t believe me – I’m going to tell her to check our bank account!’

Bozeman purchased his winning ticket from Walden Lake Food Mart, located at 2710 South Turkey Creek Road in Plant City. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

On Wednesday, Bruce Prehal, 67, of Harmony, claimed a $1,000 a Week for Life prize in the CASH4LIFE ® Draw game from January 4, 2022, drawing at the Lottery’s Orlando District Office. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,000,000.00.

Prehal purchased his winning CASH4LIFE Quick Pick ticket from Winn-Dixie, located at 3318 Canoe Creek Road in Saint Cloud. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning CASH4LIFE ticket.

This popular multi-state game offers two-lifetime prizes, with the chance to win $1,000 a Day for Life or $1,000 a Week for Life. Florida is the ninth state to join CASH4LIFE.

On Thursday, another player from Miami, Nayvi Brizuela, 36, claimed a $1 million top prize from THE FASTEST ROAD TO $1,000,000 Scratch-Off game at the Lottery’s Miami District Office. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $790,000.00.

Brizuela purchased her winning ticket from West Hialeah U-Gas, located at 7950 West 28th Avenue in Miami. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

And on Friday, Liliam Flores Merlo, 56, of Jacksonville, claimed a $5 million top prize from the $5,000,000 GOLD RUSH CLASSIC Scratch-Off game at the Lottery’s Jacksonville District Office. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $3,550,000.00.

Flores Merlo purchased her winning ticket from BP Food Store, located at 8863 San Jose Boulevard in Jacksonville. The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.
