78-Year-Old Man Falls From Gasparilla Float Onto Bayshore Blvd

TAMPA, Fla. – A 78-year-old man fell from a Gasparilla float on Saturday and suffered injuries but is in stable condition.

According to officials, Tampa Fire Rescue responded to a medical emergency during the Gasparilla Parade of Pirates.

A 78-year-old male fell from a parade float at approximately 4:20 pm. at Bayshore Blvd and S. Boulevard.

The patient was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

Medical response paused the parade for approximately 25 minutes, officials say.
