79-Year-Old Lutz Woman Dies in DUI Crash, Tarpon Springs Man Arrested

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A horrible accident on Rt.54 in Lutz Sunday night, has claimed the life of a 79-year-old Lutz Woman, and landed 23-year-old Tarpon Springs man, Cameron Stephen Frahn, in Jail.

Three vehicles were traveling westbound on SR-54 in the inside lane near Oak Grove Boulevard, Sunday night. Two vehicles, a car, and an SUV slowed for other traffic. A pickup truck, driven by 23-year-old Frahn, failed to slow or stop and collided with the rear of an SUV. The impact propelled the SUV forward and to collide with the rear of a car. Following the impact, the pickup truck and the SUV rotated and stopped within the roadway as the car rotated and stopped along the outside shoulder. Transported to an area hospital, a passenger in the SUV, a 79-year-old woman from Lutz, later died from injuries sustained during the crash.

The driver of the pickup truck, Cameron Stephen Frahn, was later arrested by FHP Troopers for DUI Manslaughter, possession of 89.5 grams of marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
