Sen. Scott Predicts A “Big Day” For The GOP On Election Day

U.S. Sen. Rick Scott on Sunday predicted voters would be very generous to Republicans on Election Day.

U.S. Sen. Rick Scott on Sunday predicted voters would be very generous to Republicans on Election Day.

In an interview with CNN, the Florida Republican said the GOP would hold “52-plus” seats in the Senate when the dust settles on Nov. 8.

“This is our year,” Scott said.

Scott heads up the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which is charged with raising money to help elect GOP candidates to the Senate. In that role, Scott has helped the committee raise $234.6 million so far this election cycle, according to the campaign finance watchdog Open Secrets.

In assessing the party’s chances, the senator predicted victories for Herschel Walker in Georgia, Dr. Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania, and Adam Laxalt in Nevada, as well as the party holding the 21 seats Republicans must defend this year, including Sen. Marco Rubio in Florida.

Scott also noted that Republicans are leading or are very competitive in several other key states, including closing in on defeating Democratic incumbents in Colorado, New Hampshire, Arizona, and Washington state.

“Democrats can’t run on anything they’ve done. People don’t like what they’ve done,” said Scott.

“They don’t like high inflation, they don’t like gas prices, food prices [being] up,” Scott added.

“The public doesn’t like an open border. They don’t like high crime. And that’s what the Democrats are known for. They’ve done all these things. Democrats did it. They did it and they want to run away from it.”

Scott reiterated that message in a second appearance Sunday on ABC News.

“I think the Democrats are going to get a rude awakening on Nov. 8 that high inflation, high crime, open borders are not what the American public wants,” Scott said on ABC.
