Liberal precincts across America show they are more than willing to tolerate and excuse left-wing, pro-Hamas protesters who punch foes, block traffic, chant “Death to America,” and commit other acts of hooliganism.

But not in conservative Bakersfield, California.

The website Trending Politics reported recently that Riddhi Patel, an anti-Israel protester, was slapped with 18 felony charges after she openly threatened to kill members of the Bakersfield City Council and Republican Mayor Karen Goh.

As the Tampa Free Press reported last week, Patel viciously denounced the council and mayor for their unwillingness to support a ceasefire resolution in Israel’s ongoing war with the terrorist network Hamas, which killed more than 1,200 Jews, including at least 32 Americans, in an attack on Oct. 7.

“You guys are all horrible human beings and Jesus probably would have killed you himself,” Patel said during a council meeting last week.

“It’s very clear to me as someone who has been organizing for the past couple of years, that none of you care, you guys don’t care, about anything happening in Palestine or any other country where oppression occurs because you don’t care about the oppression occurring here.”

“I remind you these holidays that we practice, that other people in the global South practice, believe in violent revolution against their oppressors, and I hope one day someone brings a guillotine and kills all of you motherfuckers.”

Later she got up to address a second issue. This time it was heightened security measures the council installed to deal with rowdy protesters.

“You guys want to criminalize us with metal detectors, we’ll see you at your house, we’ll murder you,” Patel told the council.

The mayor declared her comments a threat and directed city cops to cart Patel out.

Trending Politics noted that Patel “was in tears when she pleaded not guilty to 18 felony charges” filed in response to her threats.

On Friday, she was charged with eight counts of threatening state officials and 10 counts of making threats with intent to terrorize.

The judge overseeing her arraignment hearing ordered Patel to be held on $1 million bail and ordered her to stay at least 500 yards away from city hall.

The Los Angeles Times reported this week that Patel had worked as the economic development coordinator for a local nonprofit called the Center on Race, Poverty & the Environment.

The group announced Monday that it had fired her and that it “unequivocally condemn(s) any threats of violence or unethical behavior.”

The United Liberation Front, a local group leading the campaign to demand that Israel agree to a ceasefire, also publicly condemned Patel.

“It does not represent those of us in the community who continue to show up and exercise our civic duty,” the group said.

In December, KGET in California reported that Bakersfield is considered the most conservative city in the Golden State and was once ranked at the eighth-most conservative city in America.
