Arkansas is now part of the anti-woke revolution. Republican Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed an executive order that bans woke language from official state documents last week.
At a press conference on Thursday, Sanders said that she and other prominent women in her state wanted to say “enough.”
“We’re all here to say we’ve had enough,” said Sanders as she was flanked by several women, including some state lawmakers. “Enough with trying to erase women and girls. Enough denying our biological differences from men. And enough of the craziness that is taking over our country.”

“On the left,” she added, “women have taken a back seat to political correctness. … They’re using nonsense words to erase women and girls, and more importantly, to erase our voices and our experiences.”
Sanders noted that she was the first woman elected governor of her state, and only the third woman to serve as White House press secretary under former President Donald Trump.
“Today, we’re taking a stand against woke nonsense,” said Sanders. “What frankly started as a fad among a few grad students has seeped down into corporations, the healthcare industry and increasingly state government.”
“It’s demeaning to women and it needs to stop.”
Sanders noted at the event that her order bans the use of “nonsense” terms such as “pregnant people,” “laboring person,” and “birth-giver.”
“Some on the left will accuse us of being nitpicky, that Arkansas should lay down and accept the cultural revolution without complaint,” Sanders said.
“I say it’s the exact opposite. It’s the left that decided that ‘woman’ is a dirty word. It’s the left that decided we needed to toss out basic biology and basic grammar along with it.”
“I think they’re just mad that conservatives are starting to fight back. And they better get ready, because we’re just getting started,” Sanders said.

The executive order itself notes, “Women are women. …The science is clear and real; There are things only women can do, like perform the miracle of birth.”
In addition to the terms noted above, Sanders’ order also bans from official state documents in Arkansas words like “chestfeeding,” “body fed,” “person fed,” “human milk,” “menstruating person,” “menstruating people,” and “womxn” or “womyn.”
