PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that happened on Monday at 8:10 a.m. in Zephyrhills involving a train and a stolen fertilizer truck.
A CSX freight train traveling northbound on tracks running parallel and east of SR-39 collided with a stolen Chevrolet Silverado from Mosaic’s nearby fertilizer plant that was left abandoned on the tracks.
Troopers say this is just several hundred feet south of Bay Avenue in Zephyrhills.
There were no injuries to anyone on the train, which did not derail.
