President Joe Biden has turned recruiting ads for the U.S. military into the Pentagon’s equivalent of a Benetton commercial.

But failing to reach recruiting goals yet again, and with the potential for U.S. military action escalating amid tensions in the Middle East and Asia, Biden’s Pentagon, which once touted “white supremacy” in the ranks as the nation’s main enemy, has suddenly dropped wokeness for going old school.

Additionally, as Blaze Media reported on Wednesday, some Biden detractors on social media highlighted the silver lining that encircled the dark cloud.

The backdrop for the report is Biden’s soft and woke approach which critics allege has led the Army to miss its recruiting goals during his presidency.

For example, under Biden, the Army once pitched a video that featured a female soldier whose mother was in a lesbian relationship, while the soldier discussed marching in gay pride parades.

In another spot, the Army tweeted a quote about “being brave” by pop singer Lana Del Rey along with a photo depicting a determined-looking female soldier crawling through sand beneath barbed wire.

In still another video, the Army hired a pair of social media influencers named the Island Boys, who looked, as they were described by a columnist named Eric Miller, “like what would happen if Sideshow Bob dropped acid and fought a coloring book.” Miller also said the Island Boys’ hair resembled “what would happen if you electrocuted cotton candy and gave it an STD.”

In an 11-minute YouTube video released earlier this year, a black female soldier provides viewers her daily “hair and makeup routine.”

But the Army’s new approach has none of that.

As Blaze Media recounted on Wednesday, the service’s latest recruiting ad is conspicuous because “women and minorities are noticeably absent.”

The ad “features a largely white cast of male soldiers packed into a CH-47 Chinook helicopter preparing for a parachute jump,” Blaze Media reported.

Blaze Media also captured some reactions from conservatives on social media.

On X (formerly Twitter), BlazeTV host Lauren Chen observed, “The Army has abandoned woke advertising. Looks like they’re going to war and looking for white boy canon [sic] fodder.”

Popular X account Wall Street Silver added, “All white guys in the US Army ads again … we are definitely going to war.”

Darren Beattie, the editor of the conservative Revolver News, declared, “Attention white men. Time to fight and die for a regime that hates you. … The semiconductors of Taiwan must be liberated.”

Another account called Peachy Keenan, which is the pseudonym of a contributing editor of the American Mind, said, “The US Army’s new recruitment ad is so cynical. After 15 years of relentless progessive [sic] brainwashing and doing a literal ‘stand down’ to root out ‘extremists’ ( ie white conservatives), they are now facing an existential recruiting crisis and must return again to seducing the children of said ‘extremists’ into fighting for their country.”
