Bicyclist Struck And Killed In Tarpon Springs

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. – A bicyclist was struck by a car and subsequently died from his injuries in Tarpon Springs.

Authorities were dispatched to the scene of a vehicle collision at Martin Luther King Dr. and North Avenue on Monday at approximately 2:15 p.m., as stated by the Tarpon Springs Police Department.

According to police, a bicyclist and a westbound vehicle driven by a 66-year-old man were involved in the collision.

After being transported to Advent Health North Pinellas, the cyclist succumbed to his injuries.

The police stated that the bicyclist’s identity remains unknown and that an investigation is continuing. Witnesses are requested to contact Officer Scott Faugno via telephone at 727-938-2849.
