President Joe Biden and his allies in the left-wing mainstream media may be losing their grip on the anti-Trump narrative, even among their own ranks.

Amid open-borders chaos, rising crime, a stagnant economy, and more, an increasing number of Democrats see former President Donald Trump as “someone who will shake up the country for the better,” Newsweek reported on Tuesday.

For evidence, the outlet cited new polling by Harvard’s Center for American Political Studies and Harris Insights and Analytics, which together are known as Harvard-Harris.

“There has been a steady increase in the number of Democrats who see Trump in a positive light rather than as ‘a danger to democracy’ who would further divide the U.S.,” Newsweek reported.

The magazine looked at the Harvard-Harris survey for the last three months.

In January, the ratio of Democrats who believed Trump would “shake up the country for the better” was 28%. In February, that crept up to 30%.

The firm’s March poll now pegged that number at 33% of Democrats.

Conversely, the same is happening when the question is flipped.

Two months ago, the number of Democrats who viewed Trump as “a danger to democracy and will hopelessly divide the country if elected” stood at 72%.

That dipped 70% in February and registered 67% in the most recent poll.

Newsweek noted that the pollster found other evidence Trump is gaining ground with disaffected Democrats.

As noted by RealClearPolling averages, the presumptive GOP nominee leads the radical Biden among all voters by 1.6 points.

Four years ago, Biden led Trump by 7 points on the same day.

That’s a pro-Trump swing of almost nine points.

But, Newsweek added, “Democrats also appear to be changing their minds about Trump.”

“Although the former president has received low marks from Democrats throughout his political career, his general approval among Democrats has risen since he left office in 2021,” the outlet noted.

The Harvard-Harris poll in January found that 29% of Democrats “strongly or somewhat” approved of the job that Trump did while in the White House.

That more than doubled the ratio in January 2020, when just 14% of Democrats told the pollster that they approved of Trump’s handling of the presidency, Newsweek noted.
