BRANDON, Fla. – A Brandon man was transported to a local hospital after a crash on the Selmon Expressway on Monday around 2:20 pm.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a 2017 Infiniti Q60s was traveling eastbound on the Selmon Expressway (SR-618) Express lanes in the inside lane, left his lane of travel, and entered the westbound SR-618 entrance ramp, which was currently closed near mile marker 14.

The driver lost control of the Infiniti, which went through the first barrier arm, sideswiped the concrete divider wall, and continued eastbound, with the driver not taking any evasive actions.

Troopers say the Infiniti eventually collided with the main barrier arm, where it came to a stop.

The driver and sole occupant, a 55-year-old Brandon man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
