California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom used the Fourth of July to try troll his counterpart in Florida, Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.

California Gov. Newsom’s In-laws, Now Florida Residents, Contribute To Gov. DeSantis’ Re-Election Campaign

It appears Gov. Gavin Newsom is so bad at his job that not even his in-laws want to live under his rule.

It appears Gov. Gavin Newsom is so bad at his job that not even his in-laws want to live under his rule.

And even more embarrassing for the California Democrat, his in-laws moved to the home of his chief rival, Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, and even donated to DeSantis’ re-election.

Fox News first reported the news on Friday.

Newsom’s in-laws, Kenneth and Judith Siebel, whose daughter Jennifer is married to Newsom, fled the Golden State for the Sunshine State just as the pandemic was starting in 2020.

Fox noted the couple bought a $3.3 million home in Naples in March that year, and became registered voters in Florida three months later – even though they still appear to own a home in the San Francisco area.

More embarrassing for Newsom, his father-in-law is a registered Republican, while his mother-in-law has no party affiliation.

In other words, neither of Newsom’s in-laws are Democrats like him.

“The [Siebels’] voter registration shift occurred as their son-in-law enacted some of the country’s strictest COVID lockdowns, which have widely been juxtaposed to the lack of restrictions in red states like Florida,” Fox reported.

Additionally, Siebel Family Revocable Trust donated $5,000 to the Friends of Ron DeSantis website on April 6, 2022.

Kenneth Siebel, an investment manager, also has given to GOP Sens. Ron Johnson, Tom Cotton and Josh Hawley – the latter of whom is routinely painted by the left as an insurrectionist.

Free Press readers will recall that Newsom ran an anti-DeSantis campaign ad on July 4, encouraging Floridians to move to his state, which, he said, “where we still believe in freedom – freedom of speech, freedom to choose, freedom from hate, and the freedom to love.” It seems doubtful Newsom will get many takers on this offer. After all, his own family doesn’t want to live where he’s in charge.
