At 12:21 a.m. deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 2900 block of 28th Avenue Southeast.

Deputies found a 34-year-old woman who had been shot multiple times and was deceased, and a 36-year-old man who had been shot in the head.

The male victim told deputies they were shot by a man he knew as “KB” who had multiple facial tattoos and fled in a white SUV.

While deputies were en route they observed a white SUV with its lights off speeding down 28th Avenue Southeast.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the SUV and detained the driver, Rodriguez, and passenger, Crist, whose face was covered in tattoos and matched the victim’s description of the shooter.

Through their investigation detectives learned Rodriguez had been driving Crist home from Immokalee when Crist asked him to stop at the victim’s residence to collect money he was owed.

Rodriguez waited in the car while Crist went to the residence. Rodriguez heard several pop sounds and Crist returned to the vehicle. Rodriguez drove the blacked-out vehicle onto Everglades Boulevard as deputies were responding to the area and initiated the traffic stop which led to their arrests.

John Martin Crist, 28, of Naples, and Juan Pablo Rodriguez, 32, of Golden Gate Estates, are in the Collier County jail charged with second-degree murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and shooting into a dwelling.
