CLEARWATER, Fla. – Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue were called to a hit-and-run crash with serious injuries this afternoon at 3:39 p.m. at Eldridge Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.
One of the vehicles involved fled the scene.
The driver of the vehicle who fled was located and arrested. Darrell D. Thomas (DOB 10-9-84) of Clearwater parked the car in the 1100 block of Drew Street after leaving the scene of the crash.
He has been charged with DUI with injuries, leaving the scene of a crash involving injuries, and driving with a license suspended or revoked.
The victim, an adult male, was flown to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg via Bayflite and is being treated.
Investigators say the man who was seriously injured was riding a three-wheel motorcycle.
