HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue fought a fire in the attic of a residential structure on Saturday evening in Seffner.

According to officials, 911 calls came into the dispatch center at around 5:30 PM on Saturday from multiple callers reporting a fire at a home on the 500 block of Avocado Drive in Seffner. 

The first arriving engine confirmed a fire was visible from the side of the building and reported flames through the roof. Crews stretched hose lines to fight the fire and were able to control the blaze within 10 minutes, effectively stopping it from spreading throughout the attic.

Additional crews conducted primary and secondary searches, assisted with water supply, and performed additional firefighting operations. There were no occupants inside the house at the time of the fire.

There were no injuries to first responders or civilians, and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
