One wonders if Democrats actually listen to themselves talk. Democratic U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist offers an example.

Florida Gubernatorial Hopeful Crist Embraces “Christ” Label, Declaring DeSantis “Bad,” While He Is “Good”

Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Charlie Crist apparently suffers from a messianic complex. Literally.

Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Charlie Crist apparently suffers from a messianic complex. Literally.

A video released on Monday by the Twitter account DeSantis War Room, which supports incumbent Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, Crist compared himself to Jesus Christ during a recent campaign appearance.

In the 72-second video, the former Democratic congressman points at some of his campaign items and calls attention to their colors, blue and yellow, which he likened to the flag of Ukraine.

“We’re fighting for freedom, too,” said Crist, who then goes on to mention Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Crist praises the Ukrainian leader as “amazing” and notes his courage, “strength” and decency.

“This is an election about decency,” Crist added of how own election against DeSantis.

Never mind that Crist said after he won the nomination that he didn’t want any Republican support from Donald Trump backers because of the “hate” in their hearts.

Then, it got weird.

The election, Crist continued, is “about being decent to one another, about being kind to everyone — it’s called a ‘Florida for all. You know we’ve got a divider on the other side, and a uniter over here.”

That’s an odd comment from Crist, who relentlessly applauds President Joe Biden, who in just the last week or so has labeled his conservatvie critics “semi-fascists” and called them a threat to the very survival of America.

Crist, the self-proclaimed uniter, then added of DeSantis, “You know some people call him ‘DeSatan.’ Have you heard that?” To which a woman in the crowd responds that the slur is “one of the nicer ones.”

“I’m trying to be nice,” Crist then asserted. “‘DeSatan’ vs. that,” he said while pointing to his own name on a campaign sign affixed to the wall behind him. At least one person in the audience uttered “Christ,” a play on the left-wing former governor’s name.

Crist then embraces the reference. “Think about it — boom,” he said. He then added that the choice for voters was “crystal clear.”

“There’s no question about it. The choice is crystal clear,” Crist added. “He’s bad, we’re good.”

Uniter indeed.
