WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Winter Haven Police investigators say the man who attacked a woman at Trailhead Park in August, has been arrested.
On August 27, 2022, at approximately 11 p.m., a female was at Trailhead Park feeding cats in the area as she commonly does.
As she walked back to her car, she was approached by a Hispanic man who placed something against her back as he pushed her against her vehicle. The male began cutting off her shirt from the back and physically attacked the woman. He then walked off while laughing.
The woman told investigators that she saw the man there on August 25 while she was feeding the cats and he asked her for assistance over to a bench because he couldn’t see.

Frederick Duchin, 58, was arrested by Winter Haven Police on an unrelated drug charge on September 11, 2022.
During a search, officers located a box cutter in his pocket. The officer also noticed Duchin resembled the man in the composite sketch that was completed by the victim.
Detectives went to the Central County Jail where he was being held on the drug charge and made contact with Duchin. During their interview, Duchin admitted to seeing the victim at the park on two separate occasions.
Detectives developed a photo array and the victim positively identified Duchin as her attacker.
Duchin was charged with Armed Sexual Battery and remains in the Polk County Jail.
