Florida Highway Patrol Investigating Early Morning Death Of Lecanto Woman

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. - Florida Highway Patrol Troopers are investigating the death of a Lecanto woman after responding to a stopped vehicle in Pasco County early Thursday.

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol Troopers are investigating the death of a Lecanto woman after responding to a stopped vehicle in Pasco County early Thursday.

According to troopers, on Thursday at 4:52 AM, FHP Troopers and Road Rangers responded to a vehicle stopped in the northbound travel lanes of the Suncoast Parkway at the 20 Milepost, north of SR-54. 

Troopers say a 2013 Nissan sedan was located and occupied by a 46-year-old Lecanto woman and her 14-year-old son.

According to investigators, the woman suffered a medical emergency and was subsequently transported to an area hospital.

Troopers say the woman died at the hospital.
