President Joe Biden showed once again that he doesn’t believe the rules apply to him. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida wants to show Biden otherwise.

The Florida Republican, who serves as vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, is demanding that Biden delete his TikTok account, according to Florida Daily.

Biden’s presence on the app creates a national security risk, said Rubio and other lawmakers who have joined him in trying to pressure Biden to get off the popular social media platform.

The irony is that Biden already banned TikTok for everyone else.

As The Associated Press reported a year ago, the White House told all federal agencies to get TikTok off all government-owned devices before the end of March 2023.

The Office of Management and Budget applauded the step, saying it was a “critical step forward in addressing the risks presented by the app to sensitive government data.”

“The White House already does not allow TikTok on its devices,” the AP noted.

Yet on Super Bowl Sunday less than two weeks ago, Biden’s re-election campaign fired off its first TikTok video.

Last week, Rubio, joined by 17 other Republican lawmakers, sent Biden a letter urging him to drop TikTok.

“TikTok endangers national security, and this concern is aggravated by the platform’s appeal to young people in the United States. We therefore urge you to delete your account and set a better example for the American people by restating that TikTok is a national security threat,” the lawmakers wrote.

“Furthermore, you supported legislation banning TikTok from government devices. Presumably you signed this legislation into law due to the privacy risks associated with the app,” they added.

“It is incredibly troubling, then, that you are now ignoring TikTok’s well-established national security risks. How can the federal government warn Americans about the risks of this app if the Commander in Chief uses it, too?”

“Why should government employees be expected to honor a ban on official devices when the President rebuts the core justification for the law? And why should Americans believe you will protect them from foreign threats, when your use of the platform suggests disregard for well-known national security threats?” they continued.

“The office of the presidency is about leadership. By downloading TikTok, you are setting a poor example for the American people, while making them less safe for the bargain.”

“We urge you to delete your account and publicly acknowledge the national security threat posed by TikTok,” they concluded.

Among those from Florida who signed the letter were Sen. Rick Scott and Reps. Byron Donalds, Michael Waltz and Bill Posey.
