Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced Sunday that his country and the United States are working on a ten-year deal that will include armed support and financial, political, and joint arms production.

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG), who has been vocal on her opposition to more funding, blasted the White House and US House Speaker Mike Johnson.

“Permanent funding for Ukraine is exactly what they want, and Mike Johnson will give it to them. Peace is not an option for them because it doesn’t fit the government appropriations war business and economic model, which is vile and disgusting,” said Greene on X.

“Their plan is to keep funding the proxy war with Russia in Ukraine and when that doesn’t work, after all the Ukrainian men have been slaughtered, next they will put American troops on the ground. Johnson will do whatever Biden/Schumer want in order to keep the Speaker’s gavel in his hand, but he has completely sold out the Republican voters who gave us the majority. His days as Speaker are numbered,” said Greene.

During a live briefing on Sunday, Zelenskyy announced the 10-year deal that’s in the works, stating, “I have just spoken with Hakeem Jeffries, the leader of the Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives. I thanked him and all the congressmen for their support of our country and personal leadership in advancing a new package of assistance to Ukraine. We are interacting with our partners at all levels to achieve the level of efficiency in assistance that is needed not only to hold our positions, but also to disrupt Russia’s war plans.”

“Ukraine and the United States are currently working on a bilateral security agreement, and we are already working on a specific text. Our goal is to make this agreement the strongest of all,” Zelenskyy said Sunday.

“We are discussing the specific foundations of our security and cooperation. We are also working on fixing specific levels of support for this year and for the next ten years, including armed support, financial, political, and joint arms production,” Zelenskyy added.

“The agreement should be truly exemplary and reflect the strength of American leadership. I am grateful to both our team and the team of the American side for the progress in drafting the agreement,” Zelenskyy said.

As the Tampa Free Press reported last week, the $60+ billion aid package just passed in Congress would only provide Kyiv with several months’ worth of military equipment.

According to The Wall Street Journal, approximately $14 billion of the package would go to Ukraine for the direct purchase of weapons and munitions and funding for training via the Department of Defense’s Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative.

Over $30 billion would be spent to replenish the United States’ weapons stockpiles that can be transferred to Ukraine under the presidential drawdown authority; the funds would also be used to strengthen US military forces throughout Eastern Europe as part of a larger effort to prevent Russia’s hostilities from spreading.

The bill also included around $10 billion in economic loans, which Kyiv would be required to repay within a time frame determined by the sitting US president.

A provision in the measure permits the president to forgive the whole loan by January 2026.
