Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia on Monday pushed back on the leftist narrative that Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to attack the rest of Europe once he finishes off Ukraine.

In an interview on Steve Bannon’s “War Room podcast,” the Georgia Republican also continued to call for Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson to step down now that the Biden administration has claimed victory after Congress, with Johnson’s blessing, passed $61 billion in aid for Ukraine.

“This is not what Republican voters gave us the majority for,” Greene noted, adding that many of those same voters are “done with the Republican Party” for the continued effort to secure Ukraine while America’s border remains open.

The congresswoman argued that U.S. taxpayers are massively funding the pointless slaughter of Ukrainian men on the battlefield. Putin, she predicted, will win.

Until then, however, she said, “The American people deserve to know the proof of Russia’s plan to go all the way to Kyiv and take Poland and continue to go marching across Europe. … We demand the proof.”

“If the American people are going to have to pay for it, then show us this proof that was shown to Mike Johnson. Why is this classified information?” she added. If this is a real threat for all of Europe, if this is a threat to America and our national security, then roll out the presentations. … The American people deserve to see all this.”

Yet GOP lawmakers also must battle their leader.

After this vote, she added, GOP voters “are angry on a whole other level.”

“They are absolutely done with Republican leadership like Mike Johnson, who totally sold us out to the Democrats,” said Greene.

Johnson “betrayed everyone, betrayed the entire Republican Party, betrayed Republican voters, betrayed the Republican conference.”

Greene said she believes GOP voters are so upset and frustrated with Republican lawmakers that they may not hand the majority back to the party.

Those voters, she added, will “jump over every hurdle” to vote for former President Donald Trump. But at the same time, they could hurt Republicans by skipping down-ballot races.

“This is why we absolutely have to hold Mike Johnson accountable … and this is why he cannot remain speaker,” said Greene. In recent interviews elsewhere, Greene has said she will continue to push her motion to oust Johnson under House rules. GOP Reps. Thomas Massie and Paul Gosar have joined Greene is calling for Johnson to get the boot.
