Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Monday again called for House Speaker Mike Johnson to be removed from his post following the enactment of the $1.2 trillion “minibus” bill.
The Georgia Republican argued for Johnson’s ousting in a thread on X by outlining big-dollar provisions in the spending bill that feed many Democratic priorities.
“Mike Johnson funded the aiding and abetting of ILLEGALS in the interior of our country!” she wrote. “Migrant Shelters: Provide $650 million for the Shelter and Services Program that reimburses local governments and nonprofits that support individuals released from DHS custody.”

“Another Mike Johnson-Chuck Schumer Uniparty Minibus Betrayal: The cap on the president’s authority to provide foreign assistance in the interest of national security increases to $500 million, from $250 million, for FY 2024,” she noted. “Sounds like more money for [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelenskyy!!”
In another Ukraine-related post, Greene added, “Rather than calling for peace, Mike Johnson sided with [Democratic Senate Majority Leader] Chuck Schumer and the Democrats to push us further toward the brink of World War 3!”
“The uniparty minibus provides $300 million in funding for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative. We should be demanding peace, not funding foreign wars!”
“The Mike Johnson-Chuck Schumer uniparty minibus rejects riders in the House bill including policies aimed at curbing the FBI’s use of politicized abuses and the administration’s broader use of the federal government against political rivals through censorship,” Greene added.

“J6 defendants, pro-life activists, Catholics attending Latin Mass, parents attending school board meetings, [former President Donald] Trump supporters, gun owners, and every dissident of the Biden regime is being targeted by Joe Biden’s weaponized DOJ. Mike Johnson didn’t stop it, he FUNDED it!”
Greene concluded: “Speaker Johnson surrendered every tool we had to force the Biden admin(istration) to secure the border in the Omnibus government funding bills and now the President of Mexico is demanding a bribe in order to ‘stem the invasion’ NOT even stop it!!”
“Johnson can NOT be Speaker of the House!” she argued.
Greene had ripped Johnson last week just before the bill passed the House with the support of many Republicans.
As the Tampa Free Press reported, she also filed a resolution calling for Johnson to vacate the speakership – the same mechanism that was used to remove former Speaker Kevin McCarthy last fall.
“The ‘Republican-controlled’ House just passed a $1.2 trillion spending bill that doesn’t secure our border but funds full-term abortion and trans ideology on our youth. I filed a Motion to Vacate because the House needs a Speaker who’s able to win for Republicans and our constituents,” said Greene on X.

“This comes after months and months of hardly any effort to pass single-issue appropriation bills while 3 Continuing Resolutions (continuing [former Democratic Speaker Nancy] Pelosi’s budget) were passed. Our Republican majority started this Congress with sweeping rule changes to stop this very behavior, yet here we are on the verge of passing a second minibus under suspension with no amendments allowed and violating the 72-hour rule,” said Greene.
“Instead of defunding the WHO, our Republican House minibus funds the WHO and funds abortions at home and abroad!”
