The ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel have reached a new level of concern as Iran threatens to attack Israel with weapons it has never used before.
“We will confront any Israeli aggression and respond to it,” Amouei told Al-Mayadeen, The New York Post reported. “We are ready to use weapons that we have not used before. We have plans for all scenarios, and we call on the Zionists to act rationally.”
This threat comes as Iran receives military support from Russia, raising the stakes in the already volatile region.

The international community has long been worried about Iran’s nuclear capabilities, and this recent development only adds to the uncertainty.
The Threat from Iran
Iran’s aggressive stance towards Israel has escalated in recent years, with the country now openly threatening to use new weapons against its long-standing adversary.
Abolfazl Amouei, a spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security Committee, stated that Iran is ready to use weapons it has never used before, promising a severe and painful response to any Israeli aggression.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi echoed these sentiments, warning Israel of a painful response to even the slightest action.
The international community has been closely monitoring Iran’s nuclear program for years. Iran possesses several nuclear research sites, including uranium mines, a research reactor, and uranium enrichment plants.
In 2023, the International Atomic Energy Agency reported that Tehran’s uranium stockpile exceeded the limit set by the Iran nuclear deal, which was agreed upon during the Obama era.

By December of that year, the United Nations agency warned that Iran had enriched uranium to nearly 60% purity, close to weapons-grade levels. It is estimated that Iran now possesses enough enriched uranium to build three atomic bombs.
The support Iran receives from Russia is a significant factor in the escalating tensions with Israel. Moscow has been supplying Iran with an array of weaponry, including anti-aircraft launchers and drones.
This support extends to air defense technology, advanced fighter jets, and technical assistance for spy satellites.
Russia has also expressed its willingness to assist in rebuilding Iran’s Air Force, which currently relies on rebuilt Soviet and US jets from before 1979. Additionally, there are reports of efforts to increase Iran’s supply of spy satellites and rockets.
The potential consequences of an armed conflict between Iran and Israel are dire. Israeli officials have stated that they have no choice but to retaliate against Iran for launching missiles and suicide drones into Israeli airspace.
The United Nations has warned both parties against further escalation, but the situation remains volatile. The use of new weapons by Iran and the support it receives from Russia significantly increase the risk of a full-scale war in the region.
