LARGO, Fla. – Largo Police Major Scott Gore graduated as a member of the 288th session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, on December 7, 2023,
Major Scott Gore is the 17th officer from the Largo Police Department to complete this prestigious program. Nationally, fewer than one percent of officers have the opportunity to attend the program.
The 288th session was held at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and consisted of 198 law enforcement officers from 45 states and the District of Columbia. The class included members of law enforcement agencies from 24 countries, four military organizations, and six federal civilian organizations.
Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy offers ten weeks of advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training.
Participants must have proven records as professionals within their agencies to attend, and on average, these officers have 21 years of law enforcement experience.
“I am very proud of Major Gore’s accomplishment and appreciate the dedication he put forth in both his attendance and graduation from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia,” said Largo Police Chief Mike Loux. “The Largo Police Department has a history and tradition of having senior leadership attend the National Academy and Scott is the latest in a long line of graduates. As an attendee and graduate of the National Academy, he was afforded the opportunity to train and learn with law enforcement professionals from around the world and to build a network of executives for the benefit of the Largo Police Department and our community.”
A total of 54,763 graduates have completed the FBI National Academy since it began in 1935.
