Man Struck And Killed On US-19 In New Port Richey

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. – A man was struck and killed on US-19 in New Port Richey Thursday, according to police.

According to police, on Thursday at 7:25 AM, the New Port Richey Police Department responded to a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian at US Highway 19 and Green Key Road.

Police say a man was walking east from the center median when he was struck by a northbound vehicle in the middle lane.

All roads were shut down at Main Street and US Highway 19 for several hours.

The male was transported to Bayonet Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

“The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene. The next of kin was notified. The investigation is still ongoing, and there are no criminal charges at this time,” said New Port Richey Police.
