SARASOTA, Fla. – Sarasota Police officers are investigating a traffic fatality that happened just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of N. Washington Blvd. (US 301), Sarasota.
Police say an adult man was driving a motorcycle southbound on US 301 and collided with an SUV.
The driver of the motorcycle died at Sarasota Memorial Hospital as a result of injuries he sustained in the crash. Next of kin has been notified.
The driver of the SUV was cooperative with officers and was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with injuries.
The crash is under investigation by the Sarasota Police Department Traffic Unit.
