Former President Donald Trump may not have locked up the hip-hop vote just yet, but left-wing Democrats are slipping in keeping the allegiance of rap stars.

Last week, New York City Mayor Eric Adams proclaimed a new initiative to make illegal immigrants feel even more welcome in the Big Apple sanctuary.

As the New York Post reported, Adams plans to provide them with prepaid credit cards to buy food. For instance, a card for a family of four would be loaded with $1,000.

In response, rapper 50 Cent said on Instagram, “WTF mayor Adams call my phone, I don’t understand how this works somebody explain.” He added, “Can’t explain this I’m stuck maybe TRUMP is the answer.”

It wasn’t the first time the star rapper had expressed support for Trump. The last time came in October 2020, when Joe Biden released his tax plan, which would have pushed the total tax burden to the wealthy to 62%.

“WHAT THE F—! (VOTE For TRUMP) IM OUT, F— NEW YORK The KNICKS never win anyway. I don’t care Trump doesn’t like black people 62 percent are you out of ya f—— mind,” 50 Cent posted on social media. “Yeah, i don’t want to be 20cent. 62% is a very, very, bad idea. i don’t like it !”

Another example from the rap world came on Friday night.

On Bill Maher’s show, rapper Killer Mike refused to openly endorse Biden.

He instead called for people to put politics first and make a “policy-based” vote.

When Maher pressed the rapper, who had once supported radical leftist Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, to clearly say he would vote for Biden, Killer Mike replied, without mentioning Biden by name, “Can he get himself to apologize for the [1994] crime bill? Can he get himself to get his head out of his ass and say ‘black people, you are black regardless? Can he pick a coalition of former people who were affected by drug law, street gangs, recidivism and crime and say ‘I need you as a board to advise me how to fix federal prisons’?”

“If he can do that,” he added, “absolutely I can. So my challenge is out.”

The comments by 50 Cent and Killer Mike came after Snoop Dogg apparently called a truce with Trump.

As the Tampa Free Press reported last week, Snoop Dogg, who once made a video in which he pretended to assassinate Trump, told a British media outlet that he had “nothing but love and respect” for Trump.

His attitude apparently changed after Trump in 2021 granted clemency to Michael Harris, the co-founder of the rapper’s first record label, Death Row Records.

Harris was doing time at the Lompoc Federal Correctional Institution in California, slated to not be released until 2028 after being sentenced to serve more than 30 years on convictions for attempted murder and cocaine trafficking.

“Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me,” Snoop Dogg told The Sunday Times of London.

“So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump,” he added.

As the website Trending Politics recently noted, Trump also had a major backer in Kanye West, who now goes by Ye. He also helped rapper A$AP Rocky out of a Swedish prison, and issued presidential pardons for Lil Wayne and Kodak Black.
