The Kremlin accused the United States of unleashing an “economic war” on Russia on Wednesday, according to Reuters London.
The outlet reported that Russia has put the United States on notice and that it was “thinking carefully” about how to respond to the ban on Russian oil and energy.
According to Reuters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the West’s sanctions were “hostile bacchanalia”.
“You see the bacchanalia, the hostile bacchanalia, which the West has sown – and that, of course, makes the situation very difficult and forces us to think seriously,” Peskov said to the outlet.
On Tuesday, President Biden announced a U.S. ban on Russian oil imports over the country’s invasion of Ukraine, taking aim at Russian President Vladimir Putin‘s main revenue source as Russian forces continue battering Ukrainian cities.
Ukrainian leaders have pleaded with Washington and the West to cut off Russian energy imports in the 13 days since Russian troops began attacking Ukraine.
In response Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he will ban certain commodity and raw material exports, according to a decree from Moscow, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The Russian cabinet will determine what specific commodities will be included in the ban, with Putin giving it two days to formulate a list, the WSJ reported. The ban will be in effect until Dec. 31, according to the decree.
The goal of the ban is to ensure “the security of the Russian Federation and the uninterrupted functioning of industry,” according to the decree, the WSJ reported. The Biden administration announced earlier on Tuesday it would ban U.S. imports of Russian energy in response to Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

While we are at it, ban China imports and exports as well. Tell those who attempt to harm us that they can not do business with us. Of course that means we would have to include the demoncrates as well.
