Tea Party Group Seeks Ousting Of Judge Who Signed FBI Warrant To Raid Trump’s Estate

A pro-Trump group has filed an ethical complaint against the federal judge who authorized the search warrant green-lighting the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago.

A pro-Trump group has filed an ethical complaint against the federal judge who authorized the search warrant green-lighting the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago.

Jenny Beth Martin, CEO of the Tea Party Patriots Action, recently filed her complaint with the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, accusing Judge Bruce Reinhart of “unethical and prejudicial conduct” toward former President Donald Trump.

She leveled seven specific points in calling for Reinhart to be booted from the federal bench.

For example, she noted that Reinhart posted on social media after Trump was elected in 2016 that he “doesn’t have the moral stature to kiss [the late Democratic Congressman] John Lewis’s feet,” and asked if Trump had “no decency” for criticizing Lewis.

Reinhart also recused himself from Trump’s defamation lawsuit against Hillary Clinton over the Russia-collusion hoax, but then just a few weeks later signed the FBI warrant to invade Trump’s Palm beach estate.

“Reinhart has a history of ethical issues,” the complaint said, noting that he resigned as a federal prosecutor from the U.S. attorney’s office that was going after Jeffrey Epstein and then went to work for Epstein.

“Reinhart is a Democrat who has given financial contributions to former Democratic President Barack Obama, and to former Florida [Republican] Governor Jeb Bush when he was a candidate running against Donald Trump for President in 2015,” the complaint says.

“Clearly, Judge Reinhart is a partisan and has publicly expressed his partisan views against former President Trump. His antipathy for the former President is such that he should have recused when presented with the search warrant for the highly problematic search of President Trump’s home in Florida,” the complaint continued.

“Judge Reinhart should be disciplined and removed as a federal magistrate because of his failure to meet the standards of ethical conduct and character necessary for the public to have confidence in the nonpartisan role of a judge in a matter of this extreme public interest.”

“The entire episode of the unprecedented search of the former President’s home, authorized by a political appointee of President Trump’s successor, and approved by a federal magistrate who has been outspoken in his opposition to and loathing of President Trump threatens the principle of ‘equal justice under law’ and the confidence of the American people in an unbiased judiciary,” the complaint argued.
