Texas Gov. Abbott Says More Buses Are Coming Until Biden Does His Job

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has sent a message to whiny mayors in New York and Washington, D.C.: get ready, because more buses are coming.

In recent days, New York City Mayor Eric Adams and Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser have complained about the strain illegal immigrants have put on their social, healthcare, and education systems.

The immigrants are arriving courtesy of Abbott, who out of frustration with President Joe Biden’s unwillingness to enforce immigration laws, began back in April shipping illegals to the Northeast so liberal enclaves could sample what his state must deal with on a perpetual basis.

At the time, Democrats mocked Abbott. “These are all migrants who have been processed by CBP [U.S. Customs and Border Protection] and are free to travel, so it’s nice the state of Texas is helping them get to their final destination as they await the outcome of their immigration proceedings — and they’re all in immigration proceedings,” former White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said.

Yet last week, according to CNN, after receiving just 5,100 illegals from Texas, Bowser called for the National Guard to be deployed to help deal with the arrivals and demanded that the federal government – that is, all U.S. taxpayers – financially respond to the influx of immigrants.

Up in New York, where 4,000 immigrants have been sent, Adams also called for federal aid, CNBC noted. He reiterated that demand this week, and is apparently negotiating with the Biden administration for relief. “We are working across city agencies and with not-for-profit partners to ensure these individuals have access to a range of services, including legal support, health care, and education. We can no longer wait,” the mayor said.

Gov. Abbott indicated in an interview with Sean Hannity of Fox News on Tuesday that Bowser and Adams may want to brace themselves.

“Believe me, we have more buses headed their way as we speak right now,” Abbott said.

“But, Sean, this just shows the hypocrisy of these liberal leaders up in the Northeast, who think, well, that border crisis created by Joe Biden, that’s fine as long as it’s Texas that has to deal with it.”

“But as soon as they have to deal with the real consequences of Biden’s border-caused crisis,” Abbott continued, “they’re up in arms, calling for the National Guard … dealing with just a tiny fraction of what we have to deal with every single day.”

“We’re going to keep sending those buses up there until they fully understand,” Abbott promised, “and most importantly, until the Biden administration does its job to enforce the laws concerning the border.”

For context about the gripes by Adams and Bowser, who combined have received about 9,000 immigrants, the CBP reports that between Oct. 1, the beginning of the federal fiscal year, and July 1, it has had “encounters” with 1.75 million illegals crossing the entire southern border.
