Texas Man Charged Assisting 17-Year-Old Girlfriend With Killing Herself By Drowning In Pond

An 18-year-old Texas man has been charged with assisting his 17-year-old girlfriend in killing herself by drowning in a pond.

According to investigators, on November 20, 2023, Frisco Police Officers responded to suspicious activity at Frisco Commons Park, located at 8000 McKinney Road, where a deceased girl was found in the pond.

After an exhaustive investigation, evidence collected in the case indicated that 18-year-old Zander Tashman of Frisco aided the deceased, his 17-year-old girlfriend, in committing suicide.  

Subsequently, Detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest, and Tashman was taken into custody on February 18, 2024.

Tashman is charged with Aiding Suicide, which is a State Jail felony punishable by not more than two years or less than 180 days in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. His bond was set at $10,000.
